Watch the video below with youth, then use the questions below to have a mentoring conversation with them.

  1. How good was the custodian in his job?
  2. What did he do beyond his job that made a big difference in the lives of some of the students?
  3. What did the school counselor say was the result of the custodian's motivational talks with some of the students?
  4. Have you ever thought about talking to a peer or a sibling to motivate them?
  5. Have you done it? What was the result?
  6. Pick someone that you think may need some extra encouragement.
  7. When and how will you talk to this person to give them this extra encouragement?
